Yehliu Geopark (Queen's Head II)
Yehliu Geopark is famous for its scenic rock formations, fossils, coastal views, and guided tours that explain the area’s geology and history.
The Queen’s Head, the park’s iconic landmark, was originally a mushroom-shaped rock. Between 1962 and 1963, fractures at the top changed its form, giving it a long neck and delicate features that resemble Queen Elizabeth II, hence its name. Decades of natural weathering have made the neck thinner, and a reinforcement project is underway to preserve this famous rock.
